About Us

Our Mission

Founded in February 2024, the Afghan Scholars Academy team offers mentorship and educational programs at no cost to assist other Afghan students, particularly girls, in pursuing their dream of studying overseas despite the fundamental challenges they face in their country. The objective of this initiative is to provide Afghan students with equal access to education, break down barriers to education, and create opportunities for learning and growth.

Mission

Our mission at the Afghan Scholars Academy is to provide all Afghan students with equal access to education, with a concentration on Afghan girls and other individuals whose education has been prohibited due to Taliban control. In addition, a big part of our goal is to stand out for those whose ambitions have been dashed by crimes and unfair prohibitions, making sure they get the help they need to start over. Our commitment lies in elevating these pupils and equipping them with skills for global learning experiences. By offering all-inclusive activities, community involvement, and mentorship programs, we hope to create a welcoming atmosphere where every scholar can focus on their academic goals, persona, and professional development.

Vision

In our ideal future, all Afghan youth, particularly those impacted by school closures and educational bans, would have access to high-quality education that will enable them to realize their potential and effect meaningful change. Our vision is to raise a generation of responsible, caring, thinkers, and aware citizens who possess the information, potential, abilities, and fortitude needed to advance peace, prosperity, and development in Afghanistan and around the world.

Building strong networks of support and collaboration among students, educators, and mentors to create a collective path toward academic success.

Our Founder

Our Founder

Feda Mohammadi, the Founder & President of Afghan Scholars Academy, is a first-generation student at Berea College in Kentucky, United States, studying Economics and Computer Science. He grew up in a family of middling means in a rural area in Jaghori, Ghazni, Afghanistan. After completing high school at Olyatu Shughlah High School in his village, he began teaching English in language centers, including Edu-light English Language and Educational Consultancy and Mawoud Professional English Development Center, where he also served as the departmental founder.
During his social activities, Feda has helped a remarkable number of his students and peers learn English and secure scholarships abroad while preparing them for international language exams. One of the main focuses of his work has been on the students coming from low-income families and facing challenges raised due to war and adversities in the country. In that capacity, his dedication to education and social justice has earned him awards such as Ambassador for Peace in 2020, The Youth Leader Award in 2021, and a Fully Funded Scholarship at Berea College for a four-year undergraduate program in 2023. In response to the ban on girls’ education in Afghanistan, Feda Mohammadi founded the Afghan Scholars Academy in February 2024.

Our Founder was Honored with the 2024 Diana Award

We are proud to announce that our Founder, Feda Mohammadi, has been honored with the 2024 Diana Award, the most prestigious recognition for young people creating positive social change. This award is not just an acknowledgment of Mr. Mohammadi's talent and tireless efforts, but also a reflection of his dedication to improving the lives of Afghan youth through education and leadership. It is an honor for the Afghan Scholars Academy to celebrate this incredible achievement, which reflects our shared commitment to empowering Afghan students.
The Diana Award, established in memory of Princess Diana, recognizes young changemakers who demonstrate outstanding humanitarian efforts. Supported by The Prince of Wales and Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, the award celebrates impactful social actions that inspire global change.
Feda’s journey is one of resilience and determination. After experiencing a tragic attack on his school in Kabul in 2020 and then witnessing the banning of girls from education under the Taliban regime, he founded the Afghan Scholars Academy. He has supported over 3,000 Afghan students, the majority of whom are girls, by providing free educational guidance, leadership programs, and mentorship. His efforts have helped over 100 students secure international scholarships and continue their academic dreams despite immense challenges
This award strengthens our resolve to create equal educational opportunities for all Afghan youth. Congratulations to Mr. Mohammadi on this well-deserved recognition!
